Who knew that astronauts led such soap opera lives!
I
jest. I wanted to be an astronaut for many years until I discovered
that I’m terrified of flying. And heights. And gosh darn, if space
travel doesn’t combine both of those!
But the actions of Lisa Marie Bowak sorta make me want to reconsider: Am I truly missing out on something?
Let’s trace through these events as best as we can. (That’s right, folks: numbered list time!)
1)
Lisa Marie Nowak falls for her coworker, Navy Commander William
Oefelein. They developed “more than a working relationship but less
than a romantic relationship” in the time they knew each other. (Those
are her words.)
Translation, for all of us who are sane: Nowak
is creepy as hell and probably developed an unhealthy, one-sided
obsession with Oefelein.
2) These two work together, but probably did not maintain much of a friendship outside of work.
3)
Nowak somehow discovers that another woman, Colleen Shipman, has either
expressed romantic interest in Oefelein or is going to.
4) Nowak, probably in a psychotic jealous rage, does the following:
